We are delighted to share the news that Topologies of Air by Shona Illingworth, commissioned and produced by The Wapping Project, will be exhibited at Les Abattoirs Musée-Frac Occitanie in Toulouse from 1 July to 20 November 2022.
The exhibition, a journey through the layers of the sky, is structured around the work Topologies of Air, an immersive three-screen and surround sound installation examining the radical geopolitical, technological and environmental transformation of the sky since the advancement of aviation. The exhibition presents a restless, often invisible, world and disrupts the idea of the sky as a space where peace and silence reign.
The exhibition will also feature further works within the larger body of work Topologies of Air and is a touring exhibition curated by The Power Plant, Toronto.
Topologies of Air was commissioned and funded by The Wapping Project, with support from Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sharjah Art Foundation, British Council, Arts Council England and University of Kent.
