Blood Wedding was a new opera composed by Nicola LeFanu, with libretto by Deborah Levy based on Federico García Lorca’s play, and directed by Jules Wright. It was was one of WPT’s most ambitious and expensive productions, costing £350,000 in 1992. The production was performed at the now demolished Jacob Street Studios near the Tower Bridge in London.

Commissioned by the Women’s Playhouse Trust with funds from Greater London Arts, The Royal Victoria Hall Foundation, The Baring Foundation, The Rayne Foundation and the Ascherberg Trust.
